Team Tile Mural

Turn collaboration from a one-day event into a shared result the team sees every day.

Everyone paints their own tile, and the tiles combine into one large work carrying a company theme or an annual message. Each individual contribution stays legible on its own, while the full picture only appears once every person has finished.

ORIGINS

Where the craft comes from

Handing one picture to a whole group is not an event-planning invention. In 1921, with the Mexican Revolution barely over, education minister José Vasconcelos launched a mural programme that gave the walls of public buildings to artists, so that a largely illiterate population could read its own history off them. Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco and David Alfaro Siqueiros — los tres grandes — covered buildings including Mexico City's National Preparatory School, and established the mural as a form of collective narrative rather than personal expression.

The idea outlasted the movement. A wall carries weight not because of one author's skill but because it stands where everyone walks past it every day, holding a shared experience in place. The team tile mural keeps that structure: one tile each, every hand still legible, and the whole message visible only once the tiles come together.

It begins with a single tile. Only when every person sets their colour and form in the right place does the whole team picture come into view.
